Self storage units pricing does not happen in a vacuum. The laws of supply and demand, and the overall laws of the market, dictate what is a fair price to be charged. To state it a different way, if there are five self storage places in a town, and four of them have prices which range from $50 for the smallest storage unit to $150 per month for the largest, and one of them charged 50% for comparable units, it would not take long for the outlier, the one charging too much, to go out of business.
Because prices are fairly uniform in any given city, what becomes the deciding factors are the level of customer service and the quality of security available.
